The Automatic Electro-gas Vertical Welding Machine is an automated welding equipment developed and produced by NAEC based on the characteristics of tank construction, combining the technology of self-shielded vertical welding from the United States and car-type electro-gas vertical welding equipment from Japan. It can be used for both upright and inverted construction of tanks.
During the automatic welding process, the equipment uses a servo system and closed-loop control of the welding car to control the upward lifting speed, thereby achieving a stable welding pool and completing the automatic welding of longitudinal welds of large tanks, furnaces, and towers.
Its main features include the use of water-cooled copper shoes to force a single-pass weld formation, greatly improving welding quality and efficiency, and reducing the labor intensity of welders.
The complete equipment consists of the welding system and frame, welding windproof frame (with lateral walking control system), welding lifting operation platform carriage, welding automatic control system, swing control system, and cooling water circulation system.
The walking device adopts a modular design, and by adjusting its installation position, it can easily achieve both upright and inverted functions. The welding swing control system is configured with a linear swing mechanism.
